"A little lickin' the titty's not porn -- that's Playboy," Ja Rule beamed from behind the lens of a Canon SLR. "That's right up Playboy's alley." The multiplatinum rapper was speaking aloud to himself about why Playmates Christi Shake (May 2002) and Michele Rogers (June 2002) should get this party started and why they shouldn't be timid about exploring each other's bodies.

Of course, whether or not Christi and Michele macked on a king size bed situated inside Playboy's Santa Monica studios had little (or nothing) to do with Ja Rule's celebrity photo shoot, but it was a nice fringe benefit for Ja and his entourage. Eventually, the two Playmates shared the hip-hop mogul's vision -- along with each other's saliva -- during his recent three-hour photo shoot. It marked the first time two of Playboy's finest had posed for a guest celebrity lensman, and the third time a rapper had traded his mike for a camera to fulfill a lifelong dream to be a Playboy photographer.

Ja says he began "reading" Playboy when he was about six years old. Twenty-two years later Ja was ready to go work for da man -- Hef, that is. "I need to be a Playboy spokesperson or something," he said between rolls, holding a flute of Cristal in one hand and a cat o' nine tails whip in the other. "Where could I fit in? Could I be Playboy's personal rapper? Bar mitzvahs, birthday parties. Whatever y'all need. All I would need is a trip to the Grotto every now and then."
