Notorious hip-hop shit-stirrer Ol' Dirty Bastard (now also known as Dirt McGirt) was recently released from prison after a two-year-plus bid for drug charges and violating his parole. To help him celebrate his release, we asked the rascally Wu-Tang Clan rapper if he would like to participate in our Celebrity Guest Photographer series. ODB quickly consented, but he wanted to know if it was possible for him to be nude during the shoot as well.

Long pause.

After we explained to ODB that our model might not be able to concentrate if he was also disrobed, he agreed to do it with his clothes on. Chaos averted.

The shoot took place in a large, airy loft in downtown Manhattan above bustling Canal Street. ODB arrived an hour late with an entourage from his new label, Roc-A-Fella Records, and a crew from VH1 that was filming an upcoming reality pilot, On Parole with ODB, which premieres Thursday, August 7 at 10 p.m. ET. Before he took hold of the camera, we asked him why he wanted to be a Playboy photographer for a day.

"Because I'm nasty like Playboy," he earnestly explained. "You know what I'm sayin'? I'm a Scorpio and I just love nasty things. Whatever freaks me out freaks me out. I love Playboy. Playboy is the shit. It's dynamite. And that's why I wanted to get down, you know what I mean? Playboy gets down forever."
