When we introduced ODB to his photographic subject, sultry Philly babe and Special Editions model Stacy Hetrick, his eyes literally crossed and bugged out, Tex Avery style. "Oh, she beautiful," he said after composing himself. "She's just too much hot to trot. I don't even know if I should use old words or new words on her she's so pretty. She's off the meat rack. She's hot."
And hot is exactly what ODB became when the shoot commenced. Once the camera was in his hand and the model was posed provocatively on a green velvet couch in front of him, the boisterous tough guy rapper began to perspire and stammer. Under his breath, he kept up a constant staccato chatter, muttering, "Oh, shit, oh, shit, oh, shit" over and over again.
After popping a few rolls, ODB settled into a groove. He figured out how the giant strobes worked, he quickened his pace firing the camera and he ever-so-slowly began to direct his model. At one point, as Stacy was about to shed her top, ODB interjected, "Just hold it right there. Yeah, that's good. Oh, my god." And then, in classic ODB fashion, he lobbed a compliment at Stacy from far out in left field. "Baby, you look like a big pot of honey." But when ODB's gumption got to the level of telling Stacy to "spread your ass" for one of his pictures, we knew that was a rap.
Summing up her experience, Stacy said, "I loved it. He was very good at taking pictures. He was a little nervous at first, but he made me feel comfortable."
How did ODB rate his efforts? "I was a little shaky, shaky, shaky like," he said. "But she's a sweetheart and it was cool." On his way out, we asked ODB if his experience might make it into one of his songs. "Yeah. Of course, no doubt, immediately."
