MF: Very professional. Kurt is probably the best leader that I've been around playing in professional sports. Or just playing with period.

PB: Willie McGinest, who mugged you in the Super Bowl?

MF: We're good friends. I've been friends with Willie since college, we played against each other when he was at USC and I was at San Diego State. Actually we were drafted in the same year, he went two picks after me to New England. I'm happy for him, actually, although it came at my expense. To see guys go through what they went through and now winning the Super Bowl, I'm happy for him, although envious of them.

PB: Looking at your last three seasons, has the NFL game gotten too easy for you?

MF: No, no such thing. It might look like that to you guys, but it's tough.

PB: Do you consider yourself the best player in the league?

MF: I really don't get into that. You can be the best player, and two years later you can not even be a player in the league. What I am is...I work hard, I enjoy playing and I love it.

PB: Do you and the Rams have something to prove this season?

MF: We don't have anything to prove. We're gonna go out and play as hard as we can. But we don't have to prove anything to anyone. We feel like we're the best team in the NFL. What we understand is that just because you're the best don't mean that you're gonna win every game. We lost one. It happened to be a big one.
