The Playboy Jazz Festival returns to the Bing Theater with another evening of Jazz on Film, presented by jazz film archivist Mark Cantor. This year's program includes an extended set of performances from the Celluloid Improvisations Music Film Archive and the West Coast premiere of an important new documentary, Anita O'Day: The Life of a Jazz Singer. This film investigates the career of one of the greatest of all jazz vocalists and includes fascinating and insightful interview footage and a great deal of swinging vocal jazz! Preceding the documentary will be a full set of eclectic performance clips spotlighting the talents of jazz luminaries like Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, Sarah Vaughan, June Christy and Lee Morgan. As always, special surprises from the archive are planned for those in attendance.

Seating is on a first come, first serve basis and street and lot parking are available. Seating is free, but tickets are required. Tickets will be available starting at noon on June 14 at the L.A. County Museum of Art Ticket Office located in the Times Mirror Court.
