DJ Kiss “ I was so excited. The security guard told me that I could do whatever I wanted but he said, 'Don't touch Prince.' ”
PLAYBOY.COM: How would you describe your spinning style? Kiss: I'm a party DJ. I play what I know people will react to and have a good time dancing to. In other words, don't hire me for your lounge, because I am going to get it jumpin'. PLAYBOY.COM: Who are artists you absolutely must play during every DJ set? Kiss: Michael Jackson, like "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" or "Billie Jean." Also, Jay-Z because they can never get enough of him and any Down South artist. PLAYBOY.COM: What's your dress code when you're spinning? Kiss: Sexy -- tight-fitted dresses and stilettos. If I wasn't deejaying, I would want people to say that my style is really hot. PLAYBOY.COM: What's the strangest music request you've ever gotten from a fan? Kiss: "Rhinestone Cowboy." I was like, "Holy shit! Did you really just request that?!" I actually did have it at the time the guy requested it, but I couldn't play it because everyone else in the room would've sat down. PLAYBOY.COM: When you think of female sex symbols, who do you admire the most and why? Kiss: I really love Apollonia because she was just so sexy and mysterious. You saw her in Purple Rain, and you wanted to know what happened to her. It was also interesting that Prince couldn't really conquer her. I also think Beyoncé is very sexy because she has a great body and she is very confident. PLAYBOY.COM: If you could do anything else in the music industry, what would it be? Kiss: I would sing. It intrigues me so much because these singers can make those beautiful sounds come out of their mouths. PLAYBOY.COM: Is there a deejaying event you wouldn't do? Kiss: Any gig where the people want to treat me like an iPod. If you're hiring a DJ you're hiring them for their experience. If you let me do my thing, I will take you on a beautiful journey.
