Playboy.com: You debuted recently on Lost, which is a massive pop culture phenomenon. Do you think it will change your life professionally?
Monica Dean: Everybody says so, though I can't really see it yet. I think things will change for me, because I see the expressions of people I'm auditioning for since I appeared on Lost.
Playboy.com: Because you're mysterious and beautiful and speak with an accent, does that classify you as "exotic"?
Dean: I know I'm swimming in a different pool. I don't know if it's an exotic one, it's just a different one. I don't know how I'm perceived. I never see myself through my accent or my nationality.
Playboy.com: Why do you think Lost's producers cast you?
Dean: After my first audition, the casting director said, "You're the first person who understands the character." I auditioned for it four times. There were four women for the final audition; of course everybody thinks they're better than the other, better looking, more talented, more right for the part. Apparently I was the lucky one.
Playboy.com: If you were stranded on a deserted island, what is the one thing you could not do without?
Dean: I think it's a man. We would be Adam and Eve, and recreate civilization.
Playboy.com: Europeans are notorious flirts and sexual provocateurs. How would you rate your skills there?
Dean: I wouldn't be able to assess myself in this area. You'd have to ask a "victim."
