NV: Yes. We had one week to rehearse the dancing, and we shot a month later, so we kind of forgot.

PB: And you're not planning a pop career?

NV: Oh, no.

PB: Jennifer Lopez went from being a dancer on TV to an actress and then a pop star; why not you?

NV: No, no, no, no, no. I think it is not in any of my ambitions.

PB: For your next movie, Dot the i, you had to learn flamenco, right?

NV: I said to the director that I knew how, so I could get the role, and then in three days I learned how to dance flamenco. I took a teacher in Spain and then I practiced. I had to. I wanted the role. You have to take risks. [Laughs]

PB: You worked with Gael García Bernal in that film. He's become an international sex symbol after Y Tu Mamá También. How did you enjoy that?

NV: He's so sweet. He's still the guy from the neighborhood. He's not a star in his mind. He's so cute and so sensitive. He's a great actor. He was very easy to work with.

PB: A lot of chemistry there, huh?

NV: Yeah, we had a lot.

PB: That's always more fun.

NV: Yeah, it is.

PB: You probably spend most of your time in the world's finest hotel rooms. Is that difficult, the movie life?

NV: It's difficult to keep a relationship, traveling that much. But, in a way, I feel really comfortable outside [of Spain]. I need to go outside. I can't stay in the same place too much.

PB: Do you have a relationship now that you're trying to keep going?

NV: Always. [Smiles] But I'm always going back and forth so it's really difficult.

PB: When you do have some downtime at home, what do you like to do?

NV: Sleep. I sleep all the time. I sleep and sleep and sleep, and maybe go to the movies to see my friends.

PB: What qualities do you find most appealing in men?

NV: A sense of humor. I love when a man makes me laugh. I love that. And then to be cuddling. But at the same time to be strong, like macho man, like Spanish man. But very cuddly, which is very difficult to find.

PB: Are you saying that most Spanish men are more macho than cuddly?

NV: No. Both. I hate the machos and I hate the only cuddly. They have to have both.

PB: So, do the Spanish guys have the edge?

NV: It depends on the person.

PB: Who is your ideal co-star?

NV: Pacino. I would love to work with Pacino. And women? I love Meryl Streep. She's my favorite.
