You’d think that at 50 years old, Caesars Palace would be starting to slow down. But luckily for us it seems to be in a renaissance, having just opened the Montecristo Cigar Bar, a modern drinking lounge with an adjacent 400-square-foot humidor and cigar shop.
The lounge is made up of four rooms in addition to the climate-controlled humidor: The library, which has wood paneling, leather couches and Playboy: The Book of Cigars for you to flip through; the outdoorsy courtyard, which features a skylight and lots of greenery; the signature bar, which has tabletop gaming; and the vault room, a private, 10-seat table for intimate gatherings.
Choose to smoke any of the 1,000 cigars for sale on-site and pair them with cocktails or spirits from Montecristo’s high-roller list. You can sip a variety of Pappy Van Winkle vintages, pop a bottle of Dom Pérignon or splurge on some Louis XIII cognac, poured tableside for you into a crystal glass. Then there’s the oh-so-Vegas food menu, which includes fries cooked in duck fat, bourbon ketchup and a dry-aged burger slathered with foie gras butter. See, not everything going on in Vegas has to remain a secret anymore. Although you still may not want to show anyone your credit card statement… –Alyson Sheppard
