kristine_lefebvre02025_smal.jpgI’ve been a loyal watcher of The Apprentice since the beginning because it's one of the few reality shows that any competent person has a chance of winning (I’m not big on feats of strength or eating bugs). Though I’ve never been this fired up to watch the live finale, as ousted candidate and (as TMZ.com reports) our June cover girl Kristine Lefebvre returns to the show.

Playboy and The Apprentice have always been in each other’s orbits. The Donald has been a good friend of the magazine and even rewarded his candidates with a trip to the Playboy Mansion this season. Our New York offices are across the street from Trump Tower (before the show moved to L.A. this season, you could see our plaque when the “fired” candidate drove off in a cab). We even have a staffer who worked on taping the first four seasons. Finally we found the perfect woman for a beautiful pictorial.

If you haven’t watched the show I’ll give you two reasons to watch this Sunday: 1. It acts as an interesting case study of reality TV show stars/job interview applicants. 2. Lefebvre may be able to hand-deliver the first June issue to the Donald.

Kristine is a beautiful woman, plus she's over 30, a cancer survivor and has been involved with negotiating Playboy pictorials for women in the past - and it's true that there has been a close relationship between Playboy and Trump in the past. So I'm not railing against the pictorial per se. But why, why, why does Playboy persist in insulting their Playmates of the Year by constantly bumping them off of the covers in favor of other women? This will be the fourth time in five years that the PMOY was not front and center on the June issue that announces her - and the second time that she was dispatched to make way for a reality TV star indulging in her 15 minutes of fame. Playboy has said in the past that newsstand sales go down whenever a well-known face isn't on the cover - but does Lefebvre count as "well known"? And is it worth marginalizing a Playboy tradition for the sake of a few thousand extra copies? Playboy needs to stop dissing its most precious resource.

Why are you putting some TV has been on the cover instead of the Playmate of the Year?
This is an insult to all of the Playboy fans; the Playmate is an icon, why is Hef denigrating her to such a degree?
I don't go to Glamourcon to meet Playboy cover models; I go to meet the gorgeous & friendly Playmates!

Does Playboy not realize that no one watches the Apprentice any more? Today's news indicated it is the 101st most watched show. Not 1st, 11th, 50th or even 100th. And yet you think that putting a no-name from a non-watched show is better for the magazine than putting the woman who is supposed to be the best of the past year? Just out of curiosity, how many letters of support came in for having Sarah Kozer on the cover instead of Christina? Charisma over Carmella? Bai Ling over Tiffany? You finally came back to your senses last year, and now you lay this egg.

Why does Playboy insist on alienating its core readership? You all really should be ashamed of yourselves.

I agree with 3finger re the way Playboy is treating the Playmate of the Year.

I always looked forward to the June issue and seeing the lovely PMOY smiling on the cover.

However in 3 of the past 4 years (including this year), Playboy have left the PMOY off the cover in favour of a Z grade celeb who will be quickly forgotten after their 15 minutes are up.

If Playboy wishes to insult the PMOY - then not putting them on the cover is a good way to do so.

I can't stop Hef from re-introducing this most unpopular tradition he started in 2003 - but I plead with him to defer the PMOY to the JULY cover as he did in some years OR at least put her on the inside cover - similar to what he did with Willa Ford and Victoria Thornton.

The PMOY deserves this at the very least!

If this pictorial absolutely **must** run in the June issue rather than any in other month, and if the game-show losing contestant absolutely **must** be given the cover of that issue, then for heaven's sake why can't you move the PMOY issue to May or July and put the PMOY on the cover of that issue, so that you can show that Playmates, and Playboy itself, still matter more than a low-rated TV game show???

it is a very wise move as to get a "real lawyer"
taking off and show all the readers what she got to offer. pluse she over 30 year old~it will be a different tase as desperate housewives.
however I believe all the readers of playboys' would like a little ~let's say a preview as Kristine Lefebvre wear her bra and skirt first, rather then wait till June to see her nake.
anyway please do make sure she is "nake" not just showing her boobs, complete nake on photo as a playmate pro

I emphatically endorse the view that giving the cover of Playboy to (yawn) yet another contestant from a reality show--especially a losing contestant from a low-rated reality show that may be on the brink of cancellation--is a ridiculous mistake. And placing her on a cover that historically, and rightly, belongs to the Playmate of the Year is a travesty. This will only serve to further alienate longtime Playboy readers, without attracting enough new readers to make such a risk worthwhile.

Kristine Who???? On the PMOY issue cover??? Gimme a break!

Say it ain't so! Another Playmate of the Year, NOT on the upcoming June cover!?

Come on now, give us a freakin' break!
