If you’re going to be in NYC this weekend and feel like bobbing your head, check out the Tripnotica night at Galapagos, in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Tripnotica is an on-going series focused on downtempo and chillout music, the perfect antidote to a hot summer night. This time around there will be seven live acts—including Puracane, an old favorite of ours—as well as multimedia artwork to further the mood. Astralwerks records is sponsoring the party this month, too, and they’re giving away copies of the new LP from Digitalism, a German duo with a cool, Ed Banger-like sound. The bar is at 70 North 6th Street in the WB. Tripnotica kicks off at 10pm and rolls til close, at 4 a.m.
