Why do some teams follow a good season with a bad season, while having exactly the same staff and depth chart?

I think it comes down to two things, luck and over-confidence. I think ultimately lady luck picks a team for the season and either they seal the deal and take it all the way to the big game, or they blow it, because the next year she's picking another team. I also think that after a team has a mind-blowing season, they come back the next year thinking all the key players and talent are still there so they must be able to produce the way they did in the past season. So they go in over-confident, almost cocky, not taking into consideration what other teams have changed to enhance their line-up.  Then it becomes a head game, when they believe they are going to come out of the gate wining game after game, and when they don’t, they start to question why they are not winning which I think becomes very frustrating for the team! But just remember all you San Diego fans, it can be a  painful regular season but all that matters is winning the 3 games in  the playoffs that gets you to the big game!

Hugs ~ Pilar
