What makes it so hard for Championship teams to repeat as champions?

It's hard to be the champs for that reason. Everyone thinks if you win it once you should be able to win it again. Well, I hate to disappoint any New York fans out there, but I don't think the current champs will go to the Big Game again next year. You have to look at all the factors that can change in a team. Start with players becoming free agents, then injuries, mental stress and just plain bad luck. So much can change from one season to the next. Even if the current champs stay exactly the same and all the players stay healthy and the entire coaching staff stays the same, you may have another team that wants to hold the title just a little bit more. It is tough to be crowned “the best,” because once you have that title, then everyone expects you to always be the best.

I agree 100% with you, most teams will not even get back to the big game, sometimes they might, but the rest of the time, very unlikely.

I agree, but I think the biggest obstacle to repeating is everyone wants to beat the champ. All teams seem to give it that little extra and that wears the champ down by the end of the season. I heard you say on the Playmate Hour this was your last blog of the year. Well I think you did a great job and hopefully you'll be back next year. I'll be listening so keep up the good work.
