C.G. Jung would have had a nice chuckle over this story: Daniel Thompson, the founder of CleanFlicks, the Utah based company that edited DVD and VHS movies for racy content and then re-distributed them, has been arrested for having sex with underage girls. He’s also accused of using his film sanitizing business as a cover for a porn studio. Prominent directors such as Steven Spielberg and Robert Redford had previously joined a group of Hollywood Studios that successfully sued the company for copyright infringement, supposedly causing it to recently shutter. But now it looks like Thompson’s inability to clean up his own act caused his downfall. Who knows what evil lurks in the heart of men? Only the Shadow knows. . .

Heh - the irony. Although I always wondered how many minutes would be left on a CleanFlicks version of a Playboy Calender DVD? Four minutes? Three? Two? Would the opening bunny logo even survive the cut?

For the record, Daniel Thompson, nor the other gentleman charged had any direct affiliation with CleanFlicks. A press release with more information should be up on CleanFlicks Web site later today.
Can we now just assume that any bellowing "traditional values" blowhard is secretly doing everything he (or, occasionally, she) loudly decries? The list gets longer and dirtier with each passing day: the pack of lying adulterers who impeached Clinton for his harmless lies about adultery; the adulterous Speaker who allowed the impeachment to happen; the boy-chasing leader of the House caucus for Missing and Exploited Children; the adulterous, (gay)-whore-banging head of the National Association of Evangelicals; Senator Craig, who called Clinton "a naughty boy", later arrested for soliciting gay sex in a bathroom (eeeew!); and the late, unlamented Senator Thurmond, who voted to remove Clinton for office, posthumously revealed as a rapist.
What IS it with these self-appointed moralists and icky sex? I've subscribed to Playboy for most of my adult life, and the very last thing I would ever consider doing with my body is forcing it upon someone who did not want it. I hope you and your boss both understand that living well is just one form of revenge. Living healthily is yet another.
The hypocrisy of the Religious Right (or one of its leaders) is exposed yet again! Erotophiles, +1; erotophobes, -1. I long for the day when those who wage the War on Sex in America will stop said war by minding their own children & congregations, & letting the rest of us see/hear sexy stuff (or not) as we please. Before the zealots accuse us of immorality, they should take a look at themselves! As Clare Booth Luce used to say, "Censorship, like charity, begins at home. But unlike charity, it should end there."
