lisag.jpgQ: On page 82 of the January issue, the article on Spanish wine includes the photo of a stunning young lady. Who is she?
A: Amanda Hanshaw.

Q: On page 142 of the February issue (in Potpourri), who is the model wearing the "Amity Island" T-shirt?
A: Amanda Hanshaw, again.

Q: How about doing a celebrity pictorial on entertainment reporter Lisa Guerrero?
A: You mean, another pictorial? See our January 2006 issue.

Q: What issue did you do the pictorial of female morticians?
A: There was just one mortician, Alexandra Mosca, who posed for us in April 1986 (“The Lady in Black”).

Q: I own a 1966 Pink Barracuda. I was told it could have been a Playmate gift car. Do you have any info on cars given away to Playmates of the Year? A: Just about every pink car ever made is said to have been originally owned by a Playmate. The 1965 PMOY, Jo Collins, received a 1966 pink Sunbeam Tiger convertible (imported from the UK). The 1966 PMOY, Allison Park, received a 1967 pink Dodge Charger.

Q: If Mr. Hefner had his pick, which would be his favorite WWE diva?
A: Hef’s favorite WWE diva is always the next WWE diva. Watch for her in April.

Q: I was wondering if you ever considered doing a second version of  Playboy with full-sized women. Playboy Plus, if you will. I enjoy the magazine, enjoy watching “The Girls Next Door,” and everything Playboy has to offer. Now can we plus-size it?
A: We know many hot plus-sized women and have given this some thought in the past. But we’re a general-interest magazine, and it can’t be called a general-interest. That said, we consider every submission sent via the guidelines, and if the right woman comes along…

Q: Each January you publish the Playmate Review as a step toward selecting a new PMOY. Each year the first page has been a compilation of the 12 Centerfolds from the previous year.  But in 2007 it changed. The pose was essentially the same but now each Playmate was wearing a complete set of lingerie or clothing.  Not a bare breast to be seen! Since this happens again in the January 2008 I suppose it’s a new policy. As a longtime subscriber I am curious as to why this change was made.
A: Simple reason. We allow readers to vote by mobile phone and domestic-based mobile carriers (AT&T, Sprint, etc.) will not allow their numbers and name to be printed on a page with nude photographs.

"I was wondering if you ever considered doing a second version of Playboy with full-sized women. Playboy Plus, if you will. "

You will remember the pictorial "Big & Beautiful" from the March 1984 issue. Perhaps that concept could form the basis of a Special Edition?

Enough With The Girls Next Door!

I have been a loyal reader for almost 40 years. Who cares about how many girl friends Hef has.
I remember Margot Kidder. Where who you Hef when she really needed you to help her off the streets of New York.

Hef said that Kimberly Conrad was going to be it. At least he takes care of her and her children.

Then we went to seven women, five quit oh well we can hire another. In March we have the three as somekind of sexiest celebties. It most have been a very short list. Each month the World of Playboy is reserved mostly for the girls. They are always in the upper left hand corner of each page. The "Girls Next Door" and everything else is about you Hef. Without you, they don't exist.

Hef, can we have our magazine back or a little less of the girls.

Don

The late, great Anna Nicole Smith was, if not a waif, not exactly a petite woman. Like the man said, it depends on the woman.

YES! Another Lisa Guerrero pictorial!! That is exactly what we need! Really!! She was gorgeous in that first issue. More moRE! MORE!!!

Hi,
While reading through this site, I was surprised to come across my name after all these years. I am the funeral director (mortician) who posed in 1986 and thought I'd drop a line to give an update.
I am still licensed as a funeral director, despite dire predictions that I would lose my license after doing the Playboy feature, but writing is now my primary career. I have written a number of articles over the years and, in 2003,
my first book "Grave Undertakings" was published. The book is a memoir about my somewhat groundbreaking and unorthodox career (I mean how many funeral directors pose nude!?) in the funeral industry. There is an entire chapter in the book -Death Takes A Holiday -devoted to my experience with Playboy.
This summer, my second book - a pictorial history book about a famed American Cemetery (It's not easy for me to stay away from that subject)- will be published.
Life has certainly afforded me many interesting experiences and posing for Playboy was definitely one of them. To a lot of people, I will forever be known as "the funeral director who posed for Playboy".

Regards,
Alexandra
