marshall.jpg"I have been a subscriber for nine years and have always been impressed by all of the beautiful women," writes V.B. from Annapolis, Maryland. "However, I am sure many readers also appreciate curvy ladies.  For example, a model named Chloe Marshall is competing to become the first size-16 Miss England. She would make a wonderful Playmate. She carries her weight very well and has a great body. It would be great to occasionally see women like her in the magazine."

Marshall’s participation in the pageant, which takes place this July, has caused much discussion in the U.K. and online about standards of beauty and health. She is cute, but does she have a great body? Here’s a bikini shot.

We often receive other requests for particular types of models. For example, J.P. of Toronto writes: "What usually dictates my buying decision at the newsstand is the Playmate. Two features in particular weigh on my decision: Is she all natural, and does she have tattoos? I prefer all natural but I can accept enhancements that have been done well. I can handle tattoos only if they are small or subtle. You had one of the best years in 2005—I purchased every issue and it was difficult to select a Playmate of the Year. The next year wasn’t bad either. But 2007 was one of the poorest I can remember. Tattoos have become a plague in southern California. When my wife asked why I wasn’t getting the magazine, I told her it was a matter of principle. Is it that difficult to find unmarked women for the Centerfolds?"

Not even a day later, this email arrived from T.A. in Monroe, Wisconsin: "I have been subscribing to Playboy for 30 years and in all that time don’t think I have ever seen a pictorial of a tattooed woman. I don’t mean just a girl with a Rabbit Head on her ass; I’m talking sleeved or full-back murals. As a tattoo artist I have tattooed (heavily) some of the sexiest girls you’ve ever seen. It would make for a nice pictorial."

So, as usual, we can’t win.

Finally, on the subject of things you want to see or not see, Mark Crawford of Gainesville, Florida tells us that his brother Scott, who works for a catering company that often provides services at Mansion parties, has a secret life. “University of Georgia football fans like to claim that University of Florida football fans all wear jean shorts and tank tops,” Mark says. “So one year for the Florida vs. Georgia game in Jacksonville, Scott cut his hair into a mullet and dressed in jean shorts and a tank top for the weekend. He has now become the poster boy for all the Gator hate sites. In fact, his photo is one of the top images at Google Images when you search for 'gator jean shorts' or 'ugly gator.'" Congratulations, Scott. Please don’t wear that outfit to work.

Chloe is neither a Calista Flockhart nor a Camryn Manheim; she's the happy medium I look for in a woman. I hope Chloe wins the Miss England title, perhaps even Miss Universe. And if Anna Nicole Smith could become a Playmate, I believe Chloe can also, if ever she so chooses.

Isn't it interesting and/or ironic that people tattoo themselves as a means of expression, to visually say they were different than everyone else. Now, virtually everyone is getting tattoos, same ones too (like Playboy butt bunnies) so the novelty is completely shot.

That said, the moment (month?) the latest Playmate of the Month is overly tattooed is the same moment I cancel my subscription. Playboy's already showing some questionable taste (Sara Jean Underwood as PMOY????), so showcasing a heavily tattooed woman as a Playmate is an unspeakable travesty. (Just ask your brethren at the Cyber Club just how well the well-inked Suicide Girls fared with the membership. IOW, I'm not alone here.)

Let me explain: the female body is the greatest art form there is and to degrade it by pen and ink is akin to painting smiley faces on the Mona Lisa. It does not compute.
