Matador records has posted a free taster of the new Jaguar Love LP here. It’s a DRM-free MP3 of “Bats Over The Pacific Ocean,” a jumpy track from Take Me To The Sea, the full-length coming out in August. It’s indicative of their sound: hitching big indie guitars to manic vocals, frenetic drumming, and some of the whiplash time and tone changes and idiosyncratic experimentation of acts like Deerhoof. They make an interesting racket. If your travels will take you to the sea—specifically to Brooklyn’s Coney Island—Jaguar Love is playing this year’s Siren Festival there on July 19th. You can also catch them on the road in August with the Faint (who also have a new album on the way).
