acdc%20logo.jpgPlayboy.com’s Tim Lowery has a problem with America’s leading retailer.

Keith Urban singing "I’m Wal-Mart Bound" at the discount chain’s shareholders’ meeting last week was pretty dismaying, but it’s nowhere near as lame as the recent decision by AC/DC to sell out, find God and release its next album exclusively via the gigantic chain.

What irks us most about the AC/DC deal is that this is the same GOP-friendly corporation that wouldn’t sell books like Jon Stewart’s America and George Carlin’s When Will Jesus Bring the Pork Chops?. Wal-Mart, with no nose for satire, apparently feared that if they sold something that criticizes the current administration, they’d be perceived as criticizing the administration, or that by selling a work featuring premarital sex, they’d be perceived as condoning it.

But if you look surf around Wal-Mart’s online music store, it seems they don’t hold themselves to such “enlightened” standards when it comes to tunes. Who would have thought the corporation would be advising us to go for that multiple-orgasm one-night stand, get a heroin fix, slam the Bush administration, and embrace the Prince of Darkness? We were shocked.
