August cover girl Ashley Harkleroad is getting plenty of attention these days, both for her skills on the tennis court and, of course, her athletic physique. (We'd always heard that playing tennis give you great legs, and she's living proof.) ESPN.com recently chatted with Ashley about her Playboy experience, which appears here.
Equally entertaining is the accompanying poll, which runs down the list of sexiest female athletes to ever appear in Playboy (and male athletes who've appeared in the unaffiliated Playgirl, which is something we're trying hard to block out of our mind's eye right now). Atop the list is the lovely Katerina Vitt, who graced our December 1998 cover, while Gabrielle Reece, Amanda Beard, and Sable and Torrie Wilson's combo cover placed third, fourth and fifth respectively. Honorable mentions went to Kiana Tom and Amy Acuff, as well.
As for the silver medal? ESPN awarded it to...Burt Reynolds. Fair enough. The former FSU halfback once appeared on our cover, too.
