Playboy.com’s Lesley Long, our special philanthropy correspondent, updates us on a very cool charity:
Playmate Destiny Davis hopes to relax, and maybe get into the Lotus Pose, at home with hip-hop humanitarian Russell Simmons. Simmons' private Sun Salute is one of 75 items and celebrity experiences up for auction at the annual Art for Life benefit, hitting the web for the first time this year. Miss January 2005 has her eyes on the prize of a private lesson with Simmons and his former girlfriend Porschla Coleman, a Jivamutki Certified Yoga Instructor. "I want to learn to meditate and relax," Destiny says.
Starstruck philanthropists can bid on lots as varied as a trip to the Vatican, tickets to the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, a styling session with Kim Kardashian, or a cooking lesson with Top Chef's Padma Lakshmi, online, through July 24. So what's the going rate for the private Sun Salute with Simmons? The current bid is at $2,000, but Destiny is set to go as high as $2,500 at the Rush Philanthropic Arts Foundation's Art for Life gala this Saturday, July 19 at Simmons' Hampton estate. We have our fingers crossed (and our palms together) for our Playboy Playmate. We can think of no better pose than Destiny in Downward Facing Dog.
