sleeslack.jpgLeft your wallet in El Segundo? No problem. We’ve found some free digital goodies from the golden era of hip-hop.

The Sleestack’z were an Atlanta based hip-hop act who released one album, Behind the Iron Curtain, on Ichiban Records in 1995. It’s mentioned among obscure hip-hop gems of the era. Now an EP from 1994 is available as a free download here.

The three tracks—“Verbal Abuse,” “The Darkness,” and “Weed Runner”—will remind some of the time when A Tribe Called Quest, Leaders of the New School, De La Soul and many others shook up the hip-hop world with a new spirit of experimentation and sonic adventurousness. Enjoy.
