About Cameron Diaz

Cameron Diaz’s wide smile and bright blue eyes are irresistible—and so is her willingness to talk openly with Playboy about her career, her booty, and what she looks for in a man.

Cameron was born on August 30, 1972 in San Diego, California. She began modeling when she was 16. She traveled abroad for her career, spending time in Japan, Australia, Mexico, and France. She returned to California when she was 21, and although she had no previous acting experience, she was cast as a leading role in The Mask, opposite Jim Carrey. She then starred in a series of independent films, including The Last Summer, Feeling Minnesota, She’s the One, and Head Above Water. In 1997, she starred alongside Julia Roberts in the hit My Best Friend’s Wedding.

Cameron gained widespread fame when she played the title role in There’s Something About Mary. Following that movie’s blockbuster success, she starred in Very Bad Things, Being John Malkovich, Any Given Sunday, and the big-screen remake of Charlie’s Angels. In 2001, she voiced Princess FIona in the Shrek movie. She reprised the role for three sequels. Other movie roles include Vanilla Sky, The Sweetest Thing, Gangs of New York, Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle, In Her Shoes, The Holiday, What Happens in Vegas, My Sister’s Keeper, Knight and Day, The Green Hornet, Bad Teacher, What to Expect When You’re Expecting, Gambit, The Counselor, The Other Woman, Sex Tape, and Annie. In 2013, the Hollywood Reporter named her the highest-paid actress over 40 in Hollywood.

When she’s not acting, Cameron is known for her environmental activism. She has worked to raise awareness of climate change. She has also advocated for military families.

Cameron has been romantically involved with Carlos de la Torre, Matt Dillon, Justin Timberlake, and New York Yankee Alex Rodriguez, among others. In 2005, the National Enquirer printed allegations on its website that she had cheated on Justin Timberlake; she sued for defamation and won. Cameron married musician Benji Madden on January 5, 2015.
