Playboy’s Miss December 2000 Cara Michelle is literally a head above the rest. Standing at 6'2", Michelle is the tallest Playmate ever. Her warm smile, exotic features, and long legs have led her down quite a career path as a Playmate and as an international supermodel.
“My height comes from my German background,” Michelle told Playboy. “My mom is 5'9", my dad is 6'4", and my brother and sister are both over six feet tall. I’m used to people staring and making comments about me. It bothered me when I was younger and less secure, but now I don’t even notice.”
The native Hawaiian beauty has written several songs and appeared in some notable Hollywood films, including the quirky film Bedazzled in 2000 with costars Elizabeth Hurley and Brendan Fraser as well as the popular movie Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. When the director of Crocodile Dundee saw Michelle, he “nearly fell out of his chair” and told her he didn’t care if she could act at all and instantly gave her the part.
She was also in an episode in the TV series The Mind of a Married Man, in which the tall and slender brunette made an appearance walking into a bar while every single guy in the room is talking about how hot she is. This Playmate is probably used to that by now.
Michelle was born and raised on the beautiful Hawaiian island of Molokai and spent her childhood as a true Hawaiian girl—riding horses, scuba diving, surfing, and sailing. She was homeschooled for most of her life in the small town, which had only about 6,500 people in it. Even though island life was peaceful, the December Playmate was soon ready for a drastic change of pace.
She has modeled all over the world, and Michelle’s height obviously put her at an advantage when it came to modeling on the runway. Modeling agencies instantly took notice of Michelle. When she was just 14, she traveled to New York City for her first modeling gig.
“Once I got my first check, after I got home I said, ‘What am I doing here? The world is waiting!’ That’s how I became a handful,” she told Playboy.
Traveling became part of her life as she modeled in New York, Milan, Greece, and Istanbul for four years. Boston became her temporary home after four years of jet-set modeling, and she earned a degree in liberal arts from Fisher College. Michelle went on to pose for Playboy three times, once in 2000 and twice in 2001.
