Christi Shake, Playmate of the Month for May 2002, got us all shook up. Her heritage reads like a backpacker’s itinerary. She’s Czech, German, Polish, Dutch, and Swedish. She was blond in her original pictorial, but recent years have Christi seeing red, a pleasant complement to her warm skin tone.
Originally from Baltimore, Christi started modeling when she was 13. Under her mother’s guidance she enrolled at the John Casablancas Modeling and Career Center in Michigan, and won her first pageant soon afterward. After graduating with honors at 18, Christi was featured in a Special Edition pictorial, which led to a Playmate test shoot in Chicago. She’s been in Los Angeles ever since.
“I owe it all to my mother,” said Christi. “I’m over 30, and she still calls me every day. She never lets me slack off.”
Christi’s turnoffs include arrogant, cocky, and self-centered people, but she confessed to being turned on by champagne bubble baths, men who whisper sweet things to her, sweet talkers, confidence, and intelligence. She likes older men and believes in the ideals of love, marriage, and family.
Christi has appeared in countless photo and video sets for Playboy. She always wanted to be an actress, and she’s known now as a reality TV star. She appeared on Playboy TV’s No Boys Allowed and The Girls Next Door, has been a guest on Howard Stern, and—most famously—competed for General Hospital star Antonio Sabato’s affections on VH1’s My Antonio. She also acted in the music video for Kid Rock’s power ballad “Only God Knows Why.” You might see her on the red carpet—she still does some modeling and makes appearances at promotional events around Los Angeles—but Christi is a mom and now spends most of her time with her son.
