About Claire Sinclair

Miss October 2010 Claire Sinclair is one of the youngest Playmate of the Years in Playboy history, and also one of the most nostalgic. Her classic pin-up style is a throwback to the early years of the magazine. Born on May 25, 1991, Claire became Playmate of the Year in 2011, just shy of her 20th birthday.

Claire grew up in Lakewood, California, and began modeling at age 14. Her father sold memorabilia and hung pictures of glamorous pin-up models around their house. Claire admired the women and dreamed of following in their footsteps.

At 18 she met renowned pin-up artist Olivia De Beradinis. The painter used Claire as a model for several pieces that appeared in Playboy. Eventually De Beradinis introduced her to Hugh Hefner, who asked her to test shoot for the magazine. Claire never expected to be selected as Playmate of the Year because she wasn’t tall and blond. “I’m cut from a different kind of cloth,” she said. Since she wasn’t 21 when she accepted the honor, she couldn’t celebrate at nightclubs. Instead she went to the movies with friends.

Since appearing in Playboy, Claire continues to find work using her retro style. In 2010 she became the face of the Bettie Page Clothing line, a great match because her look is reminiscent of the 1950s pin-up model. She also began dancing in burlesque shows. She guest-starred at the Crazy Horse Paris, appearing on the same stage that once showcased Carmen Electra and Dita Von Teese. She also graced the covers of a number of magazines. Despite being a Playmate of the Year, Claire never appeared on the cover of Playboy because alcohol advertisers didn’t want someone underage featured on the magazine.

She later moved to Las Vegas to continue performing in burlesque shows and pursuing other opportunities. Claire says she loves vintage Vegas and the 1960s vibe of the city. She became the spokesmodel for Ace Play Poker when she first moved to Nevada. She starred in her own show called Pin Up at the Stratosphere Hotel and Casino. She was Vegas’s youngest headliner at the time.

Claire created her own comic book series with Lion Forge called Wonderous. The main character (also named Claire Sinclair) is a broke college student who gains superpowers after a medical study gone wrong.
