The Buzz:

Racing fans at the 129th running of the Kentucky Derby on May 3 may have spotted a couple of blonde manes not listed on the racing form. Amy Miller, 2002's SE Model of the Year, and Natural Beauties cover girl Jenny James burst out of the gate for Playboy and Miller Lite, signing autographs and snapping photos with fans.

Heather Christensen dropped by Playboy's HQ last week to shoot a pictorial for Playboy. While here, she popped into the SE department to check out the Gen Nishino photos taken of her with her new straight do. The curless Heather will be on display in the Playboy College Girls 2004 calendar, available in stores in August.

We found her first-and got her naked-in the fall '01 College Girls, but we're happy to share Katie Cleary with the world. She made the cover of June's Stuff magazine to promote her participation in UPN's new reality show America's Next Top Model, which airs on Thursday, May 20th (http://www.upn.com/shows/top_model/), and the Cyber Club will run a feature on her later this month.

Now that WWE wrestling superstar Rena Mero, formerly known as the character Sable is back in the ring, SE's 1999 tribute edition to her is in demand again. A limited number are available in the Playboy store. Pricetag? $25.

We found out we're not immune to the SARS scare. We recently had to postpone a planned photo shoot with two of our Canadian beauties from Toronto. Now that that city's been taken off of WHO's travel advisory, we expect to reschedule soon.

Houston may be home to NASA's Johnson Space Center, but we found a cosmic collection of supersexy shooting stars and hot heavenly bodies right on terra firma. Kitana Fights Back:
No sooner had Kitana Baker tasted fame with her Miller Lite catfight commercials than she was rattled by an unexpected appearance in a men's magazine, which-at her request-shall remain nameless. "Why give them free publicity when they didn't give me the benefit of asking permission?" she explained. We sat down with Kitana to get her side of the story.

Playboy: When were these photos taken?
Kitana: "In 1999 I won the Showgirl of the Year title and was shot for Showgirls magazine. At the time I signed a model release which gave them all rights to the use of the pictures."

Playboy: So you never shot for magazine X?
Kitana: "No-and never would! After the Miller commerciaI caught fire, the photos suddenly became a hot property That's when magazine X evidently bought them. I never expected to see them in print again, and when they resurfaced I felt so incredibly helpless and frustrated. It's as if someone else has control of my life."

Playboy: Has Miller been cool about this?
Kitana: "So far they've been great. I explained the situation and they were very understanding. I'm still doing radio interviews and various promotions for them, so hopefully this will pass without any further problems."

Playboy: Is there a lesson here?
Kitana: "Yes. No matter how smart you think you are, be careful about what you sign-especially when you're only 21!"

Our sadder-but-wiser fall '01 College Girls cover girl is also a Top 20 candidate for SE Model of the Year. The results will be unveiled in the July/August Lingerie, so check newsstands on June 17th to see which sexy nominee will wear the 2004 crown.
