We've all experienced the shock -- that sexy, silky, sultry disembodied voice on the other end of the phone line turns out to look like your maiden aunt Edna. Here's one time we can guarantee your fantasy matches reality: Phone sex operator Mandy Lynn not only sounds sexy, she looks sexy and is sexy. We sat down to talk to her about her 1-900 East Coast based company and, well, that ringing in her ears.
PLAYBOY SPECIAL EDITIONS: How did you get into the phone sex business?
MANDY LYNN: I read about it on the Internet, and one day I said to myself, Hey, what a great idea -- I can have fun phone conversations with people and make money at the same time! So I decided to become my own boss and start accepting calls. It was as easy as that. I've been doing it for almost three years now and I love it!
PSE: What are its greatest rewards?
ML: First, it's great money. Second, not only do I love hot phone conversations, but I especially like the freedom it allows me. I can create my own schedule and accept calls whenever I want. Third, men call me to talk about things they're too shy to talk about with anyone else, so the greatest reward is knowing that I made somebody's day!
PSE: Do you ever get calls from women?
ML: Yes, occasionally. Calls from women are fun because females are very sensual and they often have deeper fantasies than men. Sometimes when I get calls from women they just want to chat about girl stuff -- mostly the men or women in their lives. One time two girls called me and had me on a speaker phone. I was telling them what to do to each other, and the way they were moaning and pleasing each other got me so excited! I had always fantasized about being with another woman, so I really wished I was there with them!
PSE: Do you ever get calls from couples?
ML: Yes, couples often call me to spice up their love lives. They usually take turns talking with me on the phone and let me tell them what they should do to each other. Those calls are a lot of fun!
PSE: What are the most popular fantasies that callers have?
ML: Domination, submission and traditional phone sex are always popular -- but my favorite is role-playing. I think it's fun to pretend I'm a sexy secretary or naughty nurse and tell a man what I would do to him if he came into my office.
PSE: Are conversations always about sex?
ML: No, they're not. I get lots of calls wanting to talk about my modeling career, my website, cars, sports, vacation spots -- even what's going on in the news. Relationship trouble is another topic that comes up a lot. I love to help men and women with their relationships. Many say I give great advice!
PSE: What's the most interesting conversation you ever had?
ML: Well, sometimes I'll take calls while I'm out of the house. Cell phone sex can get very interesting because I'll be in my car on the way to somewhere and I get so involved I don't even realize my windows are down and the people next to me are staring. I wonder why!
PSE: Do you get personal enjoyment or pleasure from these calls?
ML: Yes, I do! I have always enjoyed steamy phone talk, so if the conversation is hot enough I get really excited.
PSE: What are the essential ingredients for success in this business?
ML: You have to be open-minded, creative, sexual and have a good imagination. It also helps to be experienced sexually.
PSE: How does a Mandy day go?
ML: I start my morning at home exercising or running. Then I'll start taking calls. After a long day of hot phone sex I love to take a warm bubble bath, and sometimes I'll even take calls while relaxing in the tub. At the end of the day I'll wind down by watching Howard Stern and Playboy TV.
PSE: What are your ultimate career goals?
