Courtney Rachel Culkin was Playboy’s Playmate of the Month for April 2005. Hailing from Long Island, New York, Courtney was raised by her grandmother in Shirley, a small town on the South Shore. She began modeling at age 15. Courtney tried out for the 50th Anniversary Playmate Hunt—with the encouragement of her longtime friend, Monica Leigh—and when Hugh Hefner saw her photos, he made her Miss April 2005.
“My grandmother kept my head on straight,” she told Playboy. “She was a big fan of Marilyn Monroe, and she was so proud that I became a Playmate.”
Courtney’s Playmate appearances included a series of videos debunking sex myths for Playboy’s YouTube channel and an interview on CNBC’s On the Money where she discussed her stock picks.
After a few episodes of The Girls Next Door Courtney went back to school and got her degree in child psychology from Long Island University. “No one knew that I was a Playmate,” she says. “I wore sweatpants and a pair of glasses in class.”
In 2007 she received her aesthetician license. These days she’s living in Long Island where she’s a busy model and makeup artist—and a master’s student, to boot. “I’d like to get my doctorate, too,” she said. “There are never enough hours in the day.”
Courtney has a thing for educated men with a strong sense of self, and she’s especially turned on if they’re thin and sexy with a pronounced jawline. Her turn-offs include bad teeth, show-offs, and pushy, disrespectful men.
