Every year AskMen releases its list of the 99 Most Desirable Women in the world. However the website’s changing up their annual tradition by ranking the most outstanding females as opposed to the most desirable. So while the women on this list are certainly desirable, they’re more notable for their professional accomplishments as opposed to their looks.
10. Serena Williams
Serena’s not just the best women’s tennis player today, but probably the most dominant of all-time. She’s also the oldest woman ever to be ranked no. 1 in the world. She needs five more to have the most Single’s Titles all-time, and that seems well within her reach.
9. Jennifer Lawrence
At 24-years-old, J-Law already has three Oscar nominations and one win and just starred in the second-highest grossing movie of 2014 in Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One. She’s pretty well on her way to becoming the most accomplished actress of all-time, which is good because someone needs to knock Meryl Streep off her high horse.
8. Amal Clooney
Yes, she somehow got notorious bachelor George Clooney to end his single life. That’s impressive, but nearly as impressive as her non-Clooney related work. Amal’s worked with several major international organizations including the UN in efforts to combat genocide, sexual violence and other major global issues. She may be one of the most important voices in the battle for Human Rights at the moment.
She’s arguably the biggest pop star in the world and her husband is one of the most important people in the music industry, so it’s no surprise Beyoncé’s on this list. She just won three Grammys, although it should’ve been four if Kanye had any say.
6. Elizabeth Holmes
Who is Elizabeth Holmes? Well, she’s only the 31-year-old CEO in charge of the health-tech company Theranos. Oh, and she’s worth $4.5 billion, making her the youngest female billionaire in the world. And her company’s trying to save lives. If someone said Elizabeth had a cave under her house and was secretly fighting crime as a superhero in her free time, we wouldn’t be surprised.
5. Lindsey Vonn
Vonn now holds the record for most women’s World Cup skiing wins with 64, making her the best skier of all-time. She’s battled injuries throughout her career, making her one of the toughest athletes in the world. She’s also dating Tiger Woods, which we’ll try not to hold against her.
4. Taylor Swift
Swift’s most recent full-length release, “1989,” was the highest selling album of 2014. “Shake It Off” and “Blank Space” both reached no. 1 on the Billboard charts, and she remains the most popular pop star in the world. As she seems to stray further away from her country roots, it will be interesting to see where Swift goes with her career.
3. Kim Kardashian
In previous entries we had a female billionaire revolutionizing the health industry and a Human Rights attorney saving lives around the world. And now we have a woman who became famous for banging a washed up R&B star and being on an insufferable reality TV show. The only outstanding thing about Kim Kardashian is the number of people who somehow idolize her.
2. Ronda Rousey
In a sport dominated by men, Ronda Rousey has risen above them all to become the most popular UFC fighter in the world. With a perfect 11-0 record, and only one fight that even lasted past the first round, she’s completed dominated the MMA world. She’s now earning roles in major motion pictures, becoming a star on multiple fronts.
1. Emma Watson
2014 was the year Emma Watson went from an actress from the Harry Potter series to a leading feminist voice. After giving a speech at the UN, she helped ushered a movement called #HeforShe to strive for equal gender rights. She’s using her popularity to make actual change worldwide.
