The best of Supreme’s spring/summer 2016 collection.
On Thursday at 11 a.m. ET, the push notifications will go out and guys everywhere (and more than a few girls) will feverishly click on their browsers hoping to score pieces from Supreme’s spring/summer 2016 collection. In keeping with tradition, the streetwear brand shuts down its physical and online stores a few weeks before each season’s new collection drops, so that when the gates finally reopened, the anticipation has reached a fevered pitch. It’s a race against time, not to mention the bots, to add items into your cart and checkout before they’re all sold out. To help you save time, we found the 12 best pieces from this year’s Supreme collection. Now you just need to get those mouse fingers ready.
SUPREME X PLAYBOY SHORT SLEEVE CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT
Short-sleeve sweatshirts are the best. For Playboy and Supreme’s latest collaboration they made one with a sturdy fleece that is the perfect weight for spring. It’s available in six colors and, trust us, you are going to want to cop all six.
Even though the collaboration was a source of contention between the singer and the brand, the fact that the two iconoclasts came together at all is amazing. The controversy will only drive up the covetability and the collectibility of this shirt.
COLOR BLOCKED TRACK JACKET
This combines the styling of those great Sergio Tacchini track suits from the 90s with colors reminiscent of a Piet Mondrian painting. It’s also water resistant, making it ideal for those April showers.
TACKLE TWILL SWEATER
It may seem counterintuitive, but Supreme can do preppy with the best of them. This white cotton sweater with tackle twill lettering similar to what you’d find on a sports jersey is the perfect piece to throw on when you have to hang out with people named “Muffy.”
GONZ BUTTERFLY BDU JACKET
Legendary skateboarder Mark Gonzales is also a talented artist who work captures an innocence and whimsy. The rainbow pattern on this odd butterfly character is the ideal contrast to the camo on the military-style coat.
SUPREME X PLAYBOY SATIN 5-PANEL HAT
Another standout piece from Playboy’s latest collaboration with Supreme. It doesn’t get much more suave than this satin (yes, satin) baseball cap with the Playboy Bunny Ears on it.
Part Don Draper, part Vito Corleone, the short-sleeve knit polo shirt is a more refined take on the traditional version. You can wear it buttoned all the way up for a more mod look or leave it unbuttoned to go more casual.
CHECKER SOCCER JERSEY
Anyone who grew up wearing Umbro shorts will appreciate the checkerboard pattern on this soccer jersey. Subtle details like tonal branding on certain squares make this top stand out.
PARIS 6-PANEL HAT
Supreme is preparing to open its first store in Paris this March. To mark the occasion, Supreme has created these six-panel hats with the city’s name spelled out in a font that old school skaters will recognize from Christian Hosoi’s decks.
ABSTRACT WATER SHORT
It’s probably a little early to start thinking about wearing shorts, but, hey spring break isn’t that far off. And since boardshorts have been eclipsed by more traditional swim trunks, these bold shorts are what you’re going to want when you’re lounging poolside.
SUPREME X EVERLAST HEAVY BAG
If you’re pissed because you didn’t score that Morrissey tee, you can take out your frustration on this heavy bag. Made of leather and weighing 70 pounds, it will help you get in shape to take on all the other hypebeasts.
PANELED CREW SWEATSHIRT
For all the hype that surrounds Supreme releases, what is often overlooked is the quality of the garments. The fleee that Supreme uses for its sweatshirts is built to last and the Gucci-inspired pattern on this version isn’t going out of style anytime soon.
