There are your average drafty ski lodges, and there is Chalet Toit du Monde in the snow capped French Alps. You’ll be able to drop off your skis outside the entrance where an original monastery once was, the door even bearing an upper crossbeam which is the remainder of the 400-year-old door frame. History aside, you’ll be greeted with translucent marble halls, a heated indoor/outdoor pool, cigar room, wine cellar and dual-faced glass fireplaces. So do the end of ski season right by renting the the French pad through HomeAway. Skiing, or hitting up the wine cellar and then the heated pool? I’ll take the latter.
