Ridiculous. Punny. Downright absurd. New York Post headlines are the best. Sadly, Vincent Musetto, the editor at the New York Post who wrote possibly the most evocative headline in the history of journalism, passed away recently at age 74. His famous headline, “Headless Body in Topless Bar,” was printed in the April 15, 1983 paper after a man killed a Queens strip club owner. And then, you know, forced one of the customers to cut off the victim’s head.
