Prost! What to Do and Where to Sleep Off the Hangover in Munich During Oktoberfest

Nicole Theodore

The end of summer isn’t all that bad, considering the world’s largest festival dedicated to drinking German beer and eating a ton of Wursts takes place in the fall. That’s right, we’re in the midst of Munich’s Oktoberfest season until the first week of October. Travelers flock to Germany’s third largest city every year to engage in a week of beer boots, dumplings and line dancing. And yes, even though there are now Oktoberfests all over, let’s just say the phrase “imitation is the sincerest form of flattery” rings true. And when you need a place to rest after the beer tents and intense German chanting, head to the one-of-a-kind Hotel Stadt Rosenheim that showcases Munich’s minimalistic design in a renovated 100-year-old neo-Renaissance building. Every room is unique, and the boutique hotel is located conveniently in the center of Munich. Tread lightly though — this isn’t a festival intended for rookies.
