Grab a Glass of Ouzo and Head to Mykonos, Greece’s Most Ancient Island

By Nicole Theodore

From personal experience, I can promise floating around semi-sober in the warm waters of the Aegean Sea in Greece is something you need to do at least once in your life. And the whitewashed paradise of Mykonos Island is the place to do it. Besides stuffing yourself with honey dipped baklava, ice-cold Ouzo and dolma, you’ll find yourself immersed in a luxurious island in the heart of Cyclades that yes, was supposedly formed from the bodies of giants killed by Hercules. Creepy mythology aside, get a taste of the good life by waking up in the San Giorgio Hotel in Mykonos every morning. Designed with the free spirit in mind, the Bohemian hotel combines traditional Greek fare with an upscale cosmopolitan feel. It’s also far enough away from the overcrowded beaches but close enough to the island’s intense nightlife.
