Tour a Unique Steel, Glass and Concrete Home Secluded in the Toro Canyons

By Nicole Theodore

Set in the fire-prone area of Toro Canyon in California, the 2,900 square-foot Montecito Residence by Olson Kundig is a modern marvel that truly minimizes its impact on the surrounding environment. The home is constructed out of fire resistant materials like steel, glass and concrete, which allows the home to act as an umbrella to shield the house from the sun but also allows offshore breezes to move through the home. Each interior space has full height sliding glass doors and windows, and the 100-foot long entry hall with concrete floors is more than inviting.
