A Shape Shifting House That Changes With the Seasons? It Does Exist

By Nicole Theodore

If you ever wanted a home that transformed on its own, this ultra cool Washington residence will blow your mind. Known as Shadowboxx, Olson Kundig architects took the idea of a mechanical home and ran with it. Exterior shutters facing the water close for protection from the elements or can stay open for a badass view of the natural clearing the house sits in. Two 15’ by 10’ steel clad doors open up to show the main living space, appropriately named the cloud room for the consistently changing sky above it. Because who would’t want to star gaze right from their bedroom?
