From January 1986 comes a timeless Playboy classic, as famed supermodel Iman returns to her native Africa after ten years as Manhattan’s hottest model. From the urban jungle of New York to the sweeping plains of Kenya, consummate professional Iman makes herself right at home – and next to a several-thousand-pound elephant, it’s no small feat. “I’m a model and an American citizen,” she says, “but I’m a Somali first.” Shot by photographer Peter Beard, who’s credited with Iman’s discovery in Nairobi, this is a set for the record books – or at the very, very least, a reprint in the November 2013 issue of Playboy.
