Working as a restaurant hostess trainer, Rebecca sent swimsuit photos to Playboy in hopes of becoming a Playmate. "Because to me," she wrote on her Playmate Data Sheet, "a Playmate is what applie pie and hot dogs are to America. Fresh, wholesome, they're beautiful and outgoing. I've always looked up to them." At the time of her Playmate test, she was studying acting and had already landed bit roles on TV, but after her June 1986 Centerfold, Rebecca's career took off. She soon appeared in era-defining films such as ¡Three Amigos! and Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
