Summer's student life was consumed by playing volleyball, lettering four years in high school and earning a scholarship to continue the sport in college. But Summer started winning modeling contracts, making way for more glamorous enterprises, and she gave volleyball the boot. The Fountain Valley, California native was auditioning for acting parts when she tested for Playmate in 1999, and after becoming Miss August 2000, movie and television roles set Summer's name in lights.
