Felicidades are in order for Raquel Pomplun, our Playmate of the Year 2013. A spirited Latina raised in Tijuana, Mexico, Raquel’s ascent to the top of the Playmate hierarchy has been one of note. “Actually, I was discovered by a receptionist at the Playboy office,” she says with a contagious laugh. “I sent my picture, and two weeks later, they called and invited me to do a test shoot.” Raquel is no stranger to a warm welcome – before she was a Playmate, she was receptionist, and with a smile like hers, she must have been good at her job. These days, Raquel has nixed the Rolodex – she’s a successful model, co-host on Playboy XM Radio’s Playmates, presenter for Blackbelt TV, and most recently, an actress in Wayne Holloway’s Snake and Mongoose. “I want to live life to the fullest,” she says. For a woman on top of the world, Raquel is delightfully down to earth, and we think it’s safe to say that this Playmate will have a full plate for years to come.
