Ashley Judd in Norma Jean and Marilyn (1996)
Director William Friedkin, who kept audiences leaping out of their seats in the '70s with blockbusters such as The French Connection (1971) and The Exorcist (1973), returns to thriller genre with Bug. This time the setting is a grungy motel where Ashley Judd is reunited with her violent ex (Harry Connick Jr.), fresh from a jail stint, and his Gulf War vet buddy (Michael Shannon). The title is actually a reference to a "bug" the serviceman claims he picked up while serving overseas which, he further says, has left him with creepy-crawly insects under his skin and simultaneously invading his room. It's a gruesome scenario, tempered only by the always glamorous Ashley. For a powerful post-Bug pick-me-up, Ashley has a lustfully rich body of bare screen work to choose from, including Normal Life (1996), Eye of the Beholder (1999) and Double Jeopardy (1999). For the most fur-tastic view of Ashley in her altogether, though, check out the 1996 Marilyn Monroe HBO biopic Norma Jean and Marilyn. Ashley gets nude five separate times, including a full-frontal while she's in church (!) at the two-minute mark, and a during a photo shoot at 37 minutes.
