In Her Own Words
Kara's played many roles, from a cocktail slinger and cheerleader to a princess. Here are a few fun facts about the new PMOY.
Passing the bar exam: "My drink is Grey Goose and water with two lemons. It's healthy and tastes a bit like lemon water."
Signature cocktail: "Sometimes when I was working at the bar, I'd make a drink called sex with an alligator. You shake Malibu, Midori and pineapple juice together and strain it into a martini glass. Then you sink Chambord in the bottom and then float a little bit of Jáger on top. It's pretty good."
Lighting up the small screen: "Playboy's been helping me get in the door. I did an episode of CSI: Miami, appeared in a music video and shot a pilot. It's a drama about NFL cheerleaders starring Judd Nelson. Right now it's called Sideliners and it's being pitched to networks."
She can still bring it on: "I don't have any cheerleading experience, but I've done gymnastics and dance all my life, so I have that background."
Making it in the Magic Kingdom: "I worked at Disney for four years. I did the show and the parades and all the characters: Cinderella, Snow White, Alice in Wonderland and the Little Mermaid. My personal favorite was Alice in Wonderland. She's supposed to be a 12-year-old girl, so you can have more fun with it and play with the kids. When you're Cinderella, you have to be more proper."
Stay sincere: "I just want a guy to come up to me and say hi, without all the pickup lines and pretending. Just do something normal."
Reality junkie: "Reality TV is definitely my guilty pleasure. Obviously, I love The Girls Next Door, but I also like The Real World and The Surreal Life and Meet the Barkers. I like to see what people do. It's just entertaining to me. I don't think I'd want to be on one, though."
The second best house in L.A.: "Previously, I lived at the Playmate House. It was purchased for the reality show Who Wants To Be A Playboy Centerfold?, and when the show ended, a bunch of Playmates started living there. Tiffany Fallon, Jillian Grace and I were roommates for a while."
Electra-fying: "When I did my PMOY photo shoot, one of my ideas made it in the photo spread. The photographer, Arny (Freytag), had done a shoot with Carmen Electra, and there was a shot I loved with a mirror. I wanted to do a picture of me on a mirror, so you see a double image. We ended up doing it and putting our own spin on it, and it made it into the magazine."
Health nut: "I probably work out about three to five times a week. I also made a few workout videos."
