That was easier
said than done! It took me a whole year to put on the weight (I
wasn't anorexic, just naturally thin). And at the age of 19, after
eating a lot of donuts (the powdered kind), I tested again. Just
when I thought I wouldn't cut it as a Playmate, things turned
around. I remember the moment I got the call; I was relaxing at
home watching Playmates of the Nineties on the E! channel
when the phone rang. I had just turned 20 when I found out that
I was "officially" a Playmate.
The publicity
tour promoting my issue was a real wake-up call for the shy town
of Mesa. Newspapers in my hometown -- including the ones that
I once wrote for -- were publishing articles about me on their
front pages; every news station wanted an interview. The conservative
town was thoroughly shocked. Since I was considered one of the
"smart" ones growing up, people quickly criticized me
for posing for Playboy. However, I still believe that if someone
is narrow-minded enough to judge another person by one simple
action, it's not worth the effort to try to convince them otherwise.

Funny enough,
one of the boyfriends who had discouraged me from posing in Playboy
showed up for an autograph at one of my signings, and another
one has called numerous times. I'm not a bitter person, but I
must say, it's a good feeling to prove negative people wrong!
Since posing as Miss March 1999, I have appeared on numerous television
shows, including two seasons on FX's The X Show and as
a Barker Beauty on CBS's The Price Is Right. I had a great
time working with Delta Burke and David Alan Grier as a guest
star on NBC's DAG. TV is my main focus -- I've also been
on MTV's Becoming, CBS' pilot Eye on the Town, UPN's
Battle Dome, CBS' The Late Late Show, TBS' Ripley's
Believe It or Not...to name a few! A complete list is available
