The coolest
thing about being the 40th Anniversary Playmate was that I became
the very first Playmate to appear in the Playboy issue launches
in Russia, Taiwan, Croatia, and the Czech Republic. I also have
promoted Playboy TV in France, Spain, Mexico and Israel. Back
in Holland they even crowned me Playmate of the Year. Unfortunately
they're not giving cars away over there or $100,000 cash for being
the PMOY -- the deal in America is pretty sweet. Also unfortunate
is the fact that, over here, an Anniversary Playmate has never
been a PMOY as well. I was hoping that maybe Hef would break that
rule, but what the heck -- can't have it all, right? I went on
to do four more layouts for Dutch Playboy, most recently in their
August 2001 issue. For the layout, I went to Brazil and walked
naked (literally) in the streets of Rio de Janeiro and Copacabana
Beach. Its an awesome 15-page spread and the cover! And
it only took two days. Dutch Playboy shoots everything more like
a fashion editorial, but with nudity, of course. It's a lot different,
but it's just as great.
After I had
my Playmate layout in the American issue, I cut my hair really
short (I think I was in a state of insanity for a day). I guess
it was a knee-jerk reaction to seeing myself nude and not being
sure if I had done the right thing or not. I thought I liked my
new crop for about two days...and then I absolutely hated it.
But what do you do? I felt so unsexy (not a good feeling).
The upside of all of this was that I booked a lot of commercials
and other good jobs, but it forced me to keep my hair short. A
lot of my fans wondered where I had gone for two years. After
my hair grew back I made a Playboy comeback as well, doing some
great promotions and posing for different pictorials including
The Girls of Kiss, a Valentine's Day spread for the February
1997 cover and Mini-Me's New Year's spread.
