I was then flown to Chicago, where I stayed at the Mansion. It was the first
time I had been on a plane and had ever left New Jersey, so that was exciting
in itself. Everyone was so nice! There were so many Bunnies sitting in the
living room at the Mansion when I walked in -- that was when they used to
have the Bunnies from the Playboy Chicago Club live at the Mansion. There
were so many parties there, but I always went to bed early because I was
only 20 and very shy. Hef was very nice and a true gentleman.
I shot my pictorial in an apartment in Chicago with Pompeo. It took about
five days because they kept changing the poses. They finally went with
the ice-cream Centerfold shot. The hardest part for me was that I couldn't
stop smiling and it was hard to pose seriously, so we ended up with a
lot of photos with me smiling. After a couple of weeks at the Chicago
Mansion, Pompeo and I went back east to shoot more photos in New Jersey
and New York. Shooting my pictorial gave me more confidence and was a
stepping stone into overcoming my shyness. Because I was so shy, I didn't
do a lot of promotional work.
After my pictorial came out, I continued to work at the Playboy Club
in New York for another three years. Eventually I got back into modeling
and acting: I did a lot of work as an extra in television and was also
a model with the Gilla Roos Agency in New York, doing a lot of commercial
print work as Betsy Barclay. I loved working as an actress (especially
appearing as an extra on One Life to Live), but looking
back I really wasn't very ambitious about pursuing an acting career. I
really love commercial print work, and I am still doing that today. In
1997, I appeared in a Playmate Revisited pictorial
for Playboy, and that was so much fun! I really enjoyed shooting with
photographer Bunny Yeager.
