Get in on the act with Anna Sophia Berglund, our Miss January 2011. She’s Swedish by descent, with fair blonde hair, brown eyes and soft, blush-tinted skin. A model and actress from San Pedro, California, Miss Berglund earned her degree in theater from UCLA, and she continued her studies at the famed Beverly Hills Playhouse. She’s had a few guest spots on television – one on Desperate Housewives and another as a manicurist on Hannah Montana – and more recently, she’s taken a star turn with gunslinger Michael Madsen in the upcoming crime film Cockroaches. “I love modeling, but acting is my true passion,” says Anna. “I worked hard for my degree, and I’ll work even harder for my career.” If you’re a fan of The Girls Next Door or Holly’s World, you know that Anna is a close friend of Hef’s number one girlfriend, Crystal Harris. “I was spending a lot of time with Crystal at the Mansion, and I had done a test for Playmate,” she says. “I didn’t hear back, so I didn’t think that I would get it. One day I was hanging out with Hef, and he asked if I wanted to take a look at the next Playmate – and he handed me one of my test shots.” Anna was there for Hef when Crystal left him at the altar – the man himself called her ‘one in a million’ – and now that Hef and Crystal have reunited, she remains a good friend and treasured member of the Playboy family. Anna’s favorite Broadway show is The Phantom of the Opera – as evidenced by her dramatic Playmate of the Month pictorial – but her true love is comedy, and she dreams of being a regular member of the Saturday Night Live cast. “I got to host the Playboy Comedy Show at the Palms in Vegas,” she says. “That’s close enough!” These days Anna is living in Los Angeles, acting and doing promotional modeling and hosting for Playboy and other gentlemen’s brands. For a Playmate of her standing, she’s not one to sit still – on days off Anna shops, works out or plays tennis and golf with her friends, and if she doesn’t have tickets to an evening show, she has reservations at one of her favorite restaurants. She may not stay in one place for long, but one place you’ll always find her is here on Playboy Plus.
