It’s an open-and-shut case with Heather Rene Smith, our Miss February 2007. She’s petite – 5’3” – with blonde hair and warm brown eyes. She’s from Salinas, California, where she used to compete as a gymnast – if her perfect face and body didn’t have you convinced, she can do a side split on the balance beam, and she shows it in her Playmate of the Month pictorial. She’s also a competent mechanic, and rebuilt a 1964 Chevy pickup with her brother. “I can do a basic tune-up,” she says. “And I know how to change the fluids.” And how. Heather got her start with Playboy as a Coed of the Week in July 2006, and she was so popular that we gave her the cover of the October/November issue of Lingerie later that year. Hef took one look at Heather and offered her the Centerfold, and the rest is Playboy history. These days, Heather is a successful model and actress in Sacramento. She was featured on an episode of MTV’s The Hills, and, more recently, as a Playboy Bunny on AMC’s hit series Mad Men. She’s still in school – pursuing degrees in criminology and forensic psychology, in lieu of a guest spot on CSI – and when she’s not at work or school, she loves to hike and camp, or go to concerts with her friends. “I can be really loud,” she says, “but I’m a romantic, and I tend to wear my heart on my sleeve. Someday I’ll fall in love and settle down.” We don’t think she’ll settle down any time soon – Heather is as flexible as ever, and she’s having more fun than she knows what to do with.
