Amateur Samantha Autum is a real wild card. Coming to you from Hemet, Southern California, she’s tall – 5’8” – and natural, with blonde hair, blue eyes and an irreverent sense of humor. “I’m random,” she says. “You never know what I’m going to do, or what’s going to come out of my mouth.” Like what? “Well, I can write my name with my foot,” she says. “And one time, I said ‘that’s what she said’ in a job interview. But I got the job.” She’s a part-time model, and when she’s not in front of the camera, she’s in the studio, brush and paint in hand. “I paint a lot of nudes,” she says. “Girls I meet at parties or on the street. For me, it’s all about the mood.” Samantha has modeling experience – fashion, promotional and editorial, some artistic – but this is her first time posing nude. “When I saw my chance with Playboy, I took it,” she says. “I had always wanted to do it. Some of my friends didn’t like it, but I don’t care what other people think. I live the life that I want to live, and that’s all that matters.” Samantha finds herself at odds – “if something good or bad is going to happen, it’s going to happen to me,” she jokes – but she’s confident and self-assured, and it all evens out in the end.
