Vote for Shelby as Playmate of the Year! We’ve got it bad for good girl Shelby Chesnes, our Playmate of the Month for July 2012. She’s small – 5’3” and about a hundred pounds – and all natural, with brown hair, brown eyes and a body so fit that we’re fit to be tied. “No implants, contacts or hair extensions,” she says proudly. “My hair, my eyes, my breasts – that’s all me.” Hailing from Jupiter, a suburb of Miami, Florida, she’s a lot more than a model. She’s a top entrepreneur, with an associates’ degree and a successful spray-tan business to her name. “I’m business-minded,” she says, “and a lot more mature than other girls my age.” When she’s not working, Shelby’s working out – if the hot body didn’t tip you off, she’s a health and fitness nut, and she divides her time between her yoga mat, Pilates class and the gym. “I eat healthy, too,” she says. “I work all the time, but there’s no reason I can’t eat well on the go – I’ve always got a healthy snack in my purse. You’ll never, ever catch me with a bag of gas station chips.” She loves the beach – “I’d live in a bikini if I could,” she says – and when she has a couple of hours to herself, she walks her dog, Lexi, or goes on a long ride down one or another of Jupiter’s bike trails. So how did a suburban girl like Shelby get to be a Playmate? “My mom was an amateur photographer,” she explains, “and I used to pose for her experiments in light and composition. I had never even read an article in Playboy, but I wanted to do something new – so I submitted my portfolio.” We invited her to do a test shoot in Los Angeles, and just shy of her 21st birthday, Shelby was named Miss July 2012. “I cried when I got the call,” she says, laughing. “I was so excited – I’d been waiting to hear back for a couple of months. I couldn’t believe that I was going to be a Playmate.” As a nude model and small business owner, Shelby is what some would call a modern woman – but she’s got some conservative values, and she believes in the time-honored tradition of courtship. “I was born on Valentine’s Day,” she says, “and I like love letters, flowers and dinners out. It’s a little outdated, but I’m a romantic, and I want my relationships to be special.” Outdated or not, we’d date Shelby in a second, and she’s second to none as Miss July 2012.
