Take a spin with Tamara Sky, our Miss August 2007. She’s a world-class DJ – she’s toured North, Central and South America, Europe and the Middle East – and she’s a world-class Playmate, too. She’s Puerto Rican, with dark brown hair, dark eyes and full lips. She was raised with five brothers in San Juan, where she went to a private Catholic school. When she was nineteen, she won an American beauty contest in Florida, which persuaded her to move to Miami and pursue a career as a model. “That’s when I started DJing,” she says. “I practiced for hours every day.” We found her on the decks at a club in Cancun, and a few months later, she found herself on deck at Studio West. These days, Tamara is a famous DJ – she played Donald Trump’s birthday party, was the first woman to play Ibiza Party 4, was named Miami’s Best DJ in 2010, and she’s just as comfortable at an event with Kim Kardashian as she is at an after-party for LCD Soundsystem. “I have a few dates in Asia coming up,” she says, “and I’m playing in India for New Year’s.” She’s always on the go – eight hours on a plane here, two hours on the tables there – but when she’s not, she’s in Los Angeles, where she lives with her friends and boyfriend. She’s got an edge – jet-black hair, combat boots, a septum piercing – and from deep house to the Bunny House, she’s the best thing we’ve ever seen or heard.
